This is such a lovely peaceful place. The more I visit, the more I like it.

I love this place. Its peaceful and tranquil and an ideal centre for outdoor pursuits... walking, climbing, watersports, or just sight seeing. I've been coming to this part of the Lakes for over 30 years and didn't realise that such a great place existed until recently. Alison and Peter are very kind and caring as well as being good company if they should call by for a coffee. Molly, the farm dog is wary at first, but if you have a biscuit she will be your friend for life. Everard lodge is primarily a working farm but this just adds to the interest of the place. The views around here are stunning and the wildlife seems content to share its idylic home with visitors. Access to the Southern Lakes and the Furness Peninsular is easy, the local hostelries offer fine ales and excellent food. What more could you want?

This is a superb South Lake District farm site within the boundar of the National Park. Peaceful, tranquil and quiet, It's an ideal centre for walking with many local footpaths and easy access to the fells. A couple of miles from Lake Coniston, its also ideal if you are into sailing or fishing but if you just wish to enjoy the open air in a beautiful setting, I can;t think of a more suitable place. Lake Windermere is easily accessible from here and Ulverstone, which is only a few miles down the road is one of the liveliest towns in Cumbria. There is always something going on. The local village of Greenod has a butcher and a baker, (you need to travel a little further for the candlestick maker) as well as a grocery store post office and a chip shopThere are two local inns, both friendly and with a wide choice of fine ales and good food... not to mention local banter. Unless you have a big appetite, beware of the gammon steak at the Farmers' Arms.Alison Ellwood is the farmer and runs this holiday home site She couldn't be more helpful and kind and nothing seems to be too much trouble. If you are looking for on-site shops, play areas, swimming pools and residents' clubs then Everard lodge is not the place for you. If you are looking for a place where you can "get away from it all" while sharing a little local life and culture then this is the place for you.
