A must do, we did Lakeside to Bowness absolutely stunning.
I took a cruise from lakeside to Bowness return. It takes a good 40 mins which is a nice time to enjoy the cruise and take some pictures. I never realised lake Windermere was as long as it is. The boat was big and fits around 500 people which is nice to know because of the train and boat times link. Absolutely beautiful.
nice enough waiting area for the ferry. kids liked the slush machine. plenty of parking.
At 52 for 2 adults and a child, it is somewhat an expensive treat for what it is.I'd probably give it 5* if it were priced around 30 but I just feel that they have taken advantage just because they can.
Freedom of the Lake ticket - 15 per adult for a whole day's travel - is very good value. Well-appointed boats with refreshments and toilets available. Skippers give enough information to make it interesting without overloading you. Breathtaking scenery around the lake. Highly recommended.
